Polyester (PE) coil coating.
PE stands for polyester. It is an economical coil coating, available in a broad color range, with good formability. Standard PE suits interior use and light exterior service where UV exposure is limited. Outdoors it chalks and fades faster than fluoropolymer systems, and typical industry exterior life is around 5 to 10 years. On the coating systems page, PE or acrylic is the typical choice for interior and sheltered use, where UV exposure is limited. Color, gloss, formability and budget also affect the choice.
