5052 aluminum alloy.
5052 is a grade in the 5xxx series, where magnesium is the main alloying element. Orbit's 5xxx grades are 5005, 5052 and 5754. The rolled aluminum coil page describes the series as higher in strength than 1xxx or 3xxx, with corrosion resistance that holds up in saltwater and marine atmospheres. It forms and welds well, and it is non-heat-treatable, so strength comes from cold work. The 5052 guide covers properties, thickness and finish options for coil coating. Alloy and temper determine formability, strength and corrosion behavior. Orbit's rolled aluminum coil is 0.20 to 2.00 mm thick and up to 1650 mm wide, in 1xxx, 3xxx and 5xxx alloys, and temper is available on request.
